Cocoon A11y does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data, browsing data, usage data, or any other information about you or your browsing activity.
Cocoon A11y does not use cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, analytics scripts, or any other tracking technology. There are no third-party scripts, no external API calls, and no network requests of any kind.
The Chrome extension uses chrome.storage.local to save your accessibility preferences (such as which features you've enabled) on your own device. This data:
The website widget version does not use localStorage by default. Preferences reset on page refresh unless the site owner explicitly enables persistence.
Cocoon A11y uses zero third-party services. The entire widget runs locally in your browser. No external servers are contacted. No CDNs are required (though a CDN option is available for convenience — it serves only the static JavaScript file with no tracking).
The Read Aloud feature uses the Web Speech API built into your browser. All speech synthesis happens locally on your device. No text is sent to any external service.

These permissions are the minimum required for the extension to function. No other permissions are requested or needed.
Cocoon A11y does not collect any data from any user, including children. The extension is safe for use by people of all ages.
Cocoon A11y is open source under the MIT License. You can inspect every line of code at github.com/ammarahamed/cocoon-a11y. We believe transparency is the best privacy policy.
If we ever change this policy (which we don't anticipate — our commitment to zero data collection is fundamental), we will update this page with the new date and clearly describe what changed.
