Where to Find AI Jobs in Sri Lanka (Updated Daily)

Sri Lanka's AI job market is genuinely growing — banks automating operations, BPOs retooling around AI services, startups building for export, and global companies hiring Sri Lankan talent remotely. What hasn't kept up is discoverability: AI roles are scattered across a dozen platforms, buried under unrelated "software engineer" listings, or filled through networks before they're posted anywhere.

Here's where to actually look, and how to search so the good roles find you.

Start Here: A Board That Updates Itself

The Channels That Matter in Sri Lanka

• LinkedIn — with the right filters. Most formal AI hiring in Colombo happens here. Search "machine learning" OR "AI" with location Sri Lanka plus remote filters; set alerts so postings come to you. Crucially, recruiters here search you — a profile that names specific AI skills (see below) gets inbound.
• The local boards. TopJobs and XpressJobs still carry roles — especially at banks, telcos and conglomerates — that never reach LinkedIn. Search terms to rotate: "data", "automation", "AI", "analytics".
• Company careers pages, directly. Sri Lanka's serious AI employers — the big banks' digital arms, IFS, Sysco LABS, WSO2, MillenniumIT, the leading BPOs — post to their own sites first. Pick five and check monthly.
• Remote-first international boards. Sri Lankan talent increasingly wins remote AI roles paid in foreign currency. Wellfound (startups), RemoteOK and Turing-style platforms are worth a weekly scan if your English and portfolio are strong.
• The unadvertised market. Meetups (Colombo's AI and data communities are active), hackathons, and simply being visibly competent — posting about projects — still fills roles before they're posted. This is disproportionately true for junior roles, where every listing gets flooded.

Search Smarter: The Titles Aren't Always "AI"

Plenty of AI work in Sri Lanka hides under other names. Add these to your alerts:

• Data analyst / Data engineer — the most common on-ramp into AI work locally
• Automation specialist / RPA developer — increasingly AI-powered
• Business intelligence — analytics roles that are quietly becoming AI roles
• Digital transformation — where enterprise AI adoption jobs live
• Prompt engineer / AI operations — new, rare, growing

Make Yourself Findable

Three moves that outperform another hundred applications:

2. Have one demonstrable project. A working automation, an analysis, a small tool — anything a hiring manager can click. In a flooded junior market, "show" beats "tell" decisively.
